I picked up a camera early on — photography always pulled at me more than filming did, even though when I was younger I pictured myself working in movies.

I trained as an audiovisual media designer and went the video-editing route for a while, and I still do some of it today, just not as my main focus anymore. Sitting behind a laptop editing full-time never felt like enough on its own. I need to be out there, with people, actually taking the picture — that's where the real passion has always been. It's a bit like giving people something: seeing someone genuinely happy because I caught a moment that meant something to them is what makes this worth doing.
